Research and development Manager
Job Description
-Propose strategic plans for the department in alignment with the company objectives.
-Evaluate potentiality of yield and quality aspects of introduced (improved) varieties on technical, economic and saving costs basis.
-Share in planning comprehensive experimental regime that ensure the right type of data and sufficient sample size that are available to answer the research questions of interests as clearly.
-Establish the research work includes methodologies and techniques that provide the framework to define a business strategy that focus on eliminating mistakes, efforts and money.
-To contribute the establishment of measurable characters for achieving a strategic problem solving methodology to increase customer satisfaction and dramatically enhance financial performance.
-Contribution for designing programs for improving agricultural practices for fields crops and its implementation at research stations and applied technology of practices at farmers fields aimed at increase yield and quality in their fields.
-Sharing establishment of most efficient, reliable and cost effective experimental activity taking in consideration the scientific approach.
-Develop the department’s seasonal and annual budget.
-Design researches and objectives of plan for each season for the different crops in coordination with the R&D team and agriculture consultant.
-Build research and analysis laboratory according to available capabilities, and set plans to ensure development & maintenance of its equipments.
-Identify yield and yield components and quality parameters for the approved varieties.
-Participate in the preparation of the operational auditing system and perform regular audit checks on the execution of trial in fields.
-Submit periodical reports to executive management covering operational activities and overall R&D performance as well as consultation for required explanations.
-Update the trail modification system according to market trends in coordination with agriculture consultant, sales, marketing and strategic departments.
-Design & update analysis methods for trial data to support management’s decision policy.
-Effectively represent the company externally with customers, partners, and suppliers.
-Ensure feedback of information, reports and planning process to top management level with more emphasis to information dissemination in collaboration with consultant.
-Participate in planning important agricultural marketing events.
-Provide technical recommendations for issues related to customer complains based on improved practices, seed health and storability characteristics.
-Supervise the analysis of customer feedback reports & incorporate their feedback in future planning design.
-Follow up the best practices of research programs, with European agencies views to evaluate varieties according to international standards and the governmental Egyptian laws
-Develop & update R&D operational manual.
-Participate and update Domiatec website regarding the varietal properties and basic information.
-Manage and monitor the “on job training” of the R&D team and accordingly prepare their training needs and submit it to HR department for review and primary acceptance in collaboration with consultant..
-Manage and approve the performance evaluations of the R&D team and forward it to HR department combined with consultant views.
-Participate in recruitment process of required subordinates based on scientific and practical experience combined with cooperation of consultant.
-Rationalize costs and expenses within approved budgets.
-Ensure all policies for experimental design for a specific research to match with regulations started within the department.
-The programs must not lose the sight of the fact that if their recommended varieties and knowledge to be of lasting significance, it must be translated into farmers fields for that it is where varieties are grown.

Skills
-Bachelor degree holder (preferred Bachelor degree of agriculture science related to R&D activities and programs of improving crops).
-9-12 years of experience in research & development
-Excellent command of English language & computer skills
-Post graduated degree is a must.
