BBA MANAGER

       Managing a DBA Large team who works on various DBMS and different operating systems
·        Provides technical and work direction to the applications team in support of day-to-day operations.
·        Performs resource planning to ensure all active projects are staffed and completed successfully.
·        Consults with business unit management and reviews IT proposals to determine goals, timeline, budget, procedures, staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
·        Develops comprehensive plans and communication documentation to support IT business goals and key initiatives
·        Ensures applications processes are followed consistently and are in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, etc.
·        Supervises all team members and provides performance feedback for team members and assigned contractors. 
·        Interacts across various functional areas and departments to ensure clear communications and that bi-directional expectations are understood and documented.
·        Define quality and security standards..
·        Perform system and database monitoring necessary to meet service levels. Perform database tuning as needed to meet service levels. Identify and resolve database problems on Windows and UNIX servers.
·        Support business critical applications in a high availability server environment. Provide 24X7 support on a periodic basis. Guide DBA team members through daily support issues.
·        Support the database users on an as-needed basis. Assist application developers in application design and tuning. Provide database support for application developers.
·        Develop, test and implement reliable database backup/recovery strategies. Participate in disaster recovery planning & testing.
·        Prepare status reports to accurately communicate progress; provide early notification of problems that could affect schedules, or the integrity or availability of data.
·         Work closely with Technical Solutions and System Administrators.

Job Specification (Skills & Competencies) • General project management/team leader skills. Ability to work effectively in a globally dispersed team and with clients and vendors. Demonstrated technical leadership skills. • Ability to assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and application managers. • Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures, including enforcement of security policies and procedures in the database domain. • Experience with database administration best practices development and enforcement a must. • 10-plus years in Database Administration on Linux and Windows platforms. • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated success managing technical DBA staff • Solid experience using Oracle Advanced Replication as well as MySQL replication. • Broad experience of administrating both Oracle and MySQL Databases. • Solid experience in PL/SQL development. • Demonstrated Ability to analyze and provide recommendation for performance tuning.
